Business Developer
Description

We are looking for an individual with business development experience in a scientific domain. Reporting to the director of sales, you will play a key part in our rapid growth. We have successfully proven our technology with individual product sales, our drive for the future is to grow these and win and develop other significant accounts.  Your role will be to instigate and initiate relationships with new accounts, and then manage those accounts to grow revenue and build long term profitable relationships. You will provide input to the New Business strategy and will ultimately be responsible for profitable sales within nominated accounts and sector campaigns. You will be expected to spend 2 or 3 days per week in our Cambridge HQ and travel globally to visit our clients when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for acquiring new client relationships and expanding footprint by selling our graphene technology (initially Hall Effect sensors).
  • Establishing initial contact or building on our existing relationships across multiple contact points.
  • Prospect for sales opportunities within new clients; developing strong relationships with senior executives and key client stakeholders within clients buying process.
  • Arrange and lead meetings, presenting our capabilities, and identifying clients’ needs.
  • Work with internal stakeholders, product teams and marketing to sell solutions that meet identified client needs.
  • Ensure we assign appropriate technical expertise to meet our clients' needs, and oversee technical communication to minimise timelines and maximise revenue.
  • Network and build relationships within client organizations to deliver on-going business growth.
  • Influence the development of our capabilities as it relates to the market’s changing needs.
  • Deliver upon agreed personal sales target.
Qualifications
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • 5+ years of customer-facing experience in a business development role.
  • Evidence of success in building new accounts.
  • Experience of operating in a consulting/services environment.
  • Experience of CRM systems.
  • Degree qualifications or above in Business or Science/Engineering domains.
