Congratulations to Paragraf Innovation Advisor Dr. Kiana Aran, who has been named the 2025 Mid-Career Winner at the Sony Women in Technology Awards with Nature. According to the award’s announcement, Dr. Aran earned her award in the field of bioengineering, in particular for “…investigating the use of fingertip sensors for viral detection, exploring how artificial intelligence can work with advanced sensor technology to analyze multiple biomarkers and enable early detection of cancer and age-associated neurological diseases.”
Dr. Aran, who currently serves as a professor of bioengineering and medicine at UC San Diego, was instrumental in creating an early prototype of Paragraf’s graphene field effect transistor (GFET) with her colleagues at Cardea Bio (now Paragraf USA) and has aided the further developing the product since it has been brought under the Paragraf umbrella.
