Julie Palmer, Operations Manager, Paragraf.

The last few months have been hard on people and businesses alike and here at Paragraf, we have navigated the COVID-19 lockdown with the health and wellbeing of everyone, working with us and for us, as our highest priority.

Our initial assessment and the flexibility of our dedicated team quickly led to preparations for 80% of our staff to work safely and comfortably from home by the beginning of lockdown, enabling us all to follow government guidelines while remaining fully operational.

The opening of our new labs and scientific office last year has meant that the reduced numbers of staff on site are able to work safely while maintaining appropriate social distancing. To further support safe working our operations team have mapped out safe walkways through the building, marked out equipment work zones, provided additional cleaning, and formulated new policies on the use of face coverings and break facilities, with company meetings moving on-line. Meticulous planning and scheduling have allowed us to keep the majority of our projects live by getting technology and operational staff on site precisely when needed. Moving forward, we continue to adapt our processes in order to keep staff safe as we gradually increase numbers on site.

You know you have a great team when everyone steps up and pulls together to maintain the incredible momentum that has propelled Paragraf to date, so it’s no surprise that we’ve also had some fun along the way too. Lunchtime (socially distanced) walks and FIFA tournaments on the X-box are enjoyed by those on site whilst we can all catch up during a daily virtual coffee break and round off the week with a trip to the Paragraf Arms for our virtual pub hour before the weekend.

Throughout the COVID-19 lock down we have continued to operate effectively because of the commitment and flexibility of our team. We all look forward to being back together, but in the meantime, we are dedicated to keeping all who work for us, and with us, safe.
