Paragraf Boosts UAE Presence with Hire of Forat El-Sayed
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates [3 May 2026] – Ahead of Make it Emirates, Paragraf is pleased to announce the appointment of Forat El-Sayed, who joins to support the company’s ongoing and growing commitment in the UAE.
Paragraf is the first company to mass-produce graphene-based electronic devices using standard semiconductor processes. Ahead of Make it Emirates it’s pleased to announce a partnership with Archer Materials, an Australian-listed company specialising in quantum and advanced materials technologies, to explore the potential of graphene in quantum devices. Paragraf works with organisations like Archer at the R&D stage to develop products in areas such as next generation quantum technology. It can then use its fab to take those technologies and deliver them on standard large diameter wafers at industrial scale. Paragraf works with a range of businesses to apply the significant technological benefits it offers to real world use cases, whether in quantum, sensing, communications or compute.
The company is also happy to announce at Make it Emirates the launch of the GFET-PMF2000, a new Graphene Field Effect Transistor built on six inch silicon wafers. The new device is an update of Paragraf’s Graphene Field Effect Transistor, using the same contamination-free graphene but at a larger scale, increasing yield and consistency while remaining fully compatible with existing designs.
This means customers can move to higher volume production without redesigning their systems, supporting more reliable and repeatable performance across applications in areas such as healthcare, agritech and industry.
Paragraf now operates across five locations: two in Cambridgeshire, UK; San Diego, USA; Shanghai; and Abu Dhabi, where Forat will be based. The company works with partners across the US, Europe and Asia, and is seeing increasing momentum in the Middle East, with the UAE positioned as a regional hub for growth.
