I moved back to the UK at 18, after spending a year in Toulouse, France and began looking for a “real job” to work at alongside my online business management course at the London School of Economics, which I was starting that October. My friend Jamie was working at Paragraf, as an intern in the development team, and he let me know that the commercial team was growing. I jumped at the opportunity and emailed to let them know I was interested.
I was able to secure an internship in the Paragraf commercial team over the summer of 2022, and from the start I was open about wanting to continue working here alongside my studies. I transitioned from intern to trainee after two months and started working directly with customers.
In the role, I learned the ins and outs of our products, and the markets they serve into, from a highly experienced commercial and technical team, and from interactions with customers looking to benefit from our breakthrough process allowing the commercialisation of graphene electronics for the first time ever.
Since then, I have surpassed the trainee title. Today, I manage Paragraf’s European business development efforts. A single week can include anything from internal discussions regarding product strategy to conversations with some of the biggest companies in a wide range of industries, from automotive and robotics to quantum computing and fusion energy.
Working at Paragraf has been an amazing experience so far and I look forward to what the future holds for the company – this may be the start of a fundamental shift in the semiconductor industry, and I’m happy to be a part of it.
